Dock Floats

No matter the size or shape of your floating dock project, we have the floats for you! The "gazeboat" pictured to the right sits on top of a dozen 4' x 4' x 16" ShoreMaster floats that were shipped directly to the customer's home.

If you have an old standing dock you are converting into a floating dock or you are constructing a new dock, be sure to check out our float sizes and prices by downloading the pdf file at the bottom of this page.

It goes without saying that the most important part of any floating dock is the flotation. That is why ShoreMaster takes no chances with their flotation technology. Each flotation shell is rotationally molded from durable polyethylene for a seamless, one-piece construction. The polyethylene shells are then filled with expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam so they will not sink or contaminate the water even if punctured.

Polyethylene Encasement:

ShoreMaster floats are manufactured from linear, virgin polyethylene resin containing UV inhibitors and carbon black pigment to protect against ultra violet degradation. This resin offers a balance of toughness, rigidity, environmental stress, crack resistance and low temperature impact performance unmatched by any other material. A nominal wall thickness of .15” is standard on all ShoreMaster floats unless a specific wall thickness is requested.

Shoremaster’s polyethylene resin is a food grade material in compliance with the FDA Title 21. As a food grade material, you are ensured that the float will not contaminate the waterway.

The polyethylene resin is included in Underwriters Laboratory Class 746C and flame class UL-94HB. The molded encasements also meet the Hunt Falling Dart puncture and thickness test.

Expanded Polystyrene:

All ShoreMaster floats are filled with expanded polystyrene (EPS) beads. The EPS foam has a 0.9 to 1.2 pound per cubic foot density with water absorption not to exceed 3.0 pounds per cubic foot as determined in accordance with the Hunt absorption test.

The EPS meets Underwriters Laboratory fire resistence standards UL723 and UL1975.
